pile up rules
pile up rules
Instructions
Players: 2-5
Goal: Collect the most points!
Materials: A stable surface (you can add some challenge by using a slope!).
Everything in your pockets that you are willing to risk.
Setup: Players place all donated pocket items to a central “pot” and sit in a circle.
Rules:
1. The player who donates the most items goes first;(or the player with the “best” item in a tie)
-The starting player selects an item from the “pot” and places it on the playing surface.
-This is setting the “foundation” piece for the pile. The starting players turn is over.
2. Turns continue in a clockwise fashion, players select an item from the “pot” and add it to the pile.
-When the players hands leave the item, their turn ends;
3. Play continues until any item other than the “foundation” touches the playing surface.
-At this point the pile has “fallen” and the round ends.
-The previous player collects all items used in the pile and claim them as points.
-The claimed items are then removed from play.
4. Player who ended the round then places a new “foundation” to start the next round.
5. The game ends when there are no remaining items in the pot.
-Player who have got the most points wins.
-If there is a tie then the tied players share victory.
Serious game- Cell Possessed.
Well here it is. my final game for the class.
CellPossessed
A brutal text adventure with a less than loving view of cellphones. kind of metaphorical if I allow myself to say so.
what do these choices connect with? gonna have to play and find out I guess.
based loosely off of the foxconn suicides http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxconn_suicides
and a general expressed opinion by various sources. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLWHE_hFi-s
with a minor helping of Lovecraftian styled endings.
its alright. works on certain levels. Might annoy people with the lack of gameplay mechanics..but I'm alright with that at the moment. Best way to strike a cord at times is to paint the vision and opinion you wish to share under words.

the final game.
I'm jotting this down so I have it after I'm done with the IOS game.
Make a “Serious Game” that deals with a specific aspect of the manufacture and promotion of mobile phone/tablet device culture.
uses 5 or less colors...
well the color palette is gonna be fun. The manufacture and promotion of phones? hmmmm... Do I have a stance on that? Wish I had bought that copy of factory girls. Dang...

"Since when has it been socially acceptable for children to be social networking? Why are parents okay with their 5th graders having smartphones so they can Instagram their lives for the world? Are there no boundaries for what kids can and can't do anymore---what happened to just being a child?"
maybe I'll use this?
hmmm

sound design
so I 1st have to say my friend Nate is a wonderful guy. I asked for some help getting a musical theme for my game and he quickly set me up with this demo track.
https://soundcloud.com/shisno/test-of-the-veil-preview
in the mean time because I foolishly failed to record the stamping of feet within snow while we had some...I'm now creating my only freezers worth of shaved ice so I may create a sound that mirrors it.
sound is an important element and I really wish now I was in my middle school and highschool jazz band instead of its choir. oh well C'est la vie.
